Rockliffe Hall

Five star hotel and country hall in County Durham.

Rockliffe Hall approached me to help them bring their new 2025 summer campaign to life through photography and film. The concept for the campaign was centred around ‘your summer, your rules’, invoking a feeling of British nostalgia with bold flavours to alfresco movie nights, garden games and golden-hour cocktails, blending refined relaxation with an adventurous spirit for a season to remember. 

To bring the vision to life, I opted for a more handheld approach to the filmmaking process. I allowed for camera shake, imperfect focus and run and gun style videography to make the footage feel as if the viewer is a part of the scene. I also used POV style techniques, locking the camera onto objects to make it feel like the viewer is one of the guests.

For photography, I ditched the perfect horizon lines and the rule of thirds, using dutch angles and bolder colours to invoke some energy and feeling into the images.

The team at Rockliffe were over the moon with the final delivery. When the words ‘the brief has been nailed’ appear in my inbox, it’s always a rewarding feeling.
